Navigate a Complex Digital Future

The BASS European Customer Forum 2026, held in Athens, Greece, was a success.

With over 100 participants and launch of the latest version of BASSnet Neo—the cloud-native and AI-ready fleet management solution—the forum brought together maritime leaders, experts and end users for two days of knowledge-sharing, innovation, and strategic discussions on the future of maritime operations.

Key Highlights

As the maritime industry faces operational, security and integration challenges, a major focus was on how true cloud-native SaaS can reduce overhead, simplify upgrades, and support faster innovation.

Demos and interactive sessions covered:

  • Launch of the latest developments in BASSnet Neo
  • AI and conversational intelligence to improve workflows and decision-making
  • Upgrade and migration strategies from legacy systems to modern SaaS operations
  • Product innovations across Maintenance, Procurement, Projects/Dry-Docking, HSEQ, Crew Management, automation, and integrations
  • Cybersecurity and compliance initiatives including ISO 27001 certification, NIST2 alignment, disaster recovery, and proactive monitoring.

We also thank Capt. Ivan Sosic from Gearbulk for his presentation on the value of BASSnet’s digital Training Record Book for training and competence management across their fleet.

Why Cloud-Native Matters

The forum highlighted operational advantages of cloud-native platforms, including:

  • Faster performance and scalability
  • Continuous updates with reduced disruption
  • Simpler integrations and AI readiness
  • Lower infrastructure and maintenance requirements
  • Enhanced cybersecurity and compliance.

Shaping the Future Together

“This year’s forum confirmed the industry’s growing focus on cloud-native platforms, AI, cybersecurity, and operational resilience,” said Per Steinar Upsaker, CEO & Managing Director at BASS Software. “We are grateful for our customers’ continued trust as we shape the future of maritime SaaS.”

Thank you to all speakers and participants who contributed to the forum.

We look forward to seeing you again at future events!
